It's a MINI thing

Guys and Gals listen up. I've been a MINI owner for 18 months now. I believe when I first got my car in April of 03 that the owner's manual, or maybe some special mailing that MINI sent me said that I should wave, or flash my brights at other MINI owners, because it's a MINI thing. I wave at every MINI I see, but I hardly ever get a wave back. I even wave when I'm driving my beat up 88 Yota 4X4, I can't help it, it's just a habit.

STOP LEAVING ME HANGING! I'm in Indiana and I expect to be getting noticed!!

Let's MOTOR!!

Josh

I'm down in FL, and most MINIs here wave. Unless they just dont see you.

(note: the MINIs themselves dont actually wave...its usually their occupants.)

 how about a thumbs up inplace of the wave?

But seriously, my MINI is on order still, but I feel the urge to wave already. Similar to the JEEP thing with my old CJ-7, a wave seems to be natural.

 Don't give up, Josh! Keep your chin up and your thumb up!

What part of Indiana are you in?

I have noticed the same thing lately too... I even stick my arm out the window and wave sometimes... I swear I've waved at the same Hot Orange Cabrio 3 times now and have never got a wave in return

Waves are good... and it's not like it takes that much effort.. come on people... get with the effin program.

 Most of the non-wavers I've encountered were young gals in Coopers. I always get waves, thumbs-up, or light-flashes from MCS drivers.

I've had my MCS for almost a year and barely got any waves. Only in the last month have i gotten three flashes and waves from other MINI owners. Kind of sad because i used to always get attention from other SVT Focus owners, probably because it was a bit more rare.

I'm in central/southern Indiana. I live in Columbus, but my girl friend lives in Greenwood so I drive up 65 frequently. There are several MINI's, including MCS's. I'll look for you. Is that a pic of yours, the red one?

Check out my homepage...

I live in Greenwood so if you see a cr/cr S with tinted windows... give it a wave!

My experience has been that's it's the "gals" part, not the "Coopers" part.

MC or MCS, it's always the women that won't wave back. Won't even look over - tunnel vision.

u know there are women here lurking around these forums too you know!

its unfortunate really.. but kinda true that it seems it's the women who waves rarely.. i guess it has to do with the fact that when ppl wave at them they take a more defensive stance... who knows if the mini owner waving madly at them is
a)trying to hit on them (im guilty of this one)

b)stalking?

my 2 cents

Oh, I know that - just calling them like I see them.

And I do get the "defensive stance" thing. There are a lot of neaderthals on the road that ogle women drivers. Must get pretty tiresome.

But the ladies should figure that if a man is cool enough to drive a MINI, then he's ok to wave to, right?
