R50/53 Cover for towing

Cover for towing

Im planning to tow my Mini(standard trans) behind my motorhome on a dolly this summer and would like to use a cover to prootect it. Anyone used one for this purpose.

With all the wind buffeting around the inner line would have to be very soft so that paint damage did not occur, IMO, but I had a one of those Paintless Dent guys tell me that the BMW clearcoat is about the hardest out there.

I concur, I don't think it's reasonable to expect to be able to tow a car at 70mph with a cover on it. It's a giant parachute waiting to catch the right wind.


I would investigate ceramic coating options, or a clear vinyl bra. Add some quality flaps on the RV and hopefully it'll control the chips.

That or build a shield onto the front of your dolly to protect the car. Wind resistance shouldn't be a big concern since it'll be behind a wall of an RV.
