huge gas leak when filling tank

I just bought an 03 r53. it had a bad fuel pump/filter so I got those replaced and the car is now running. However, when I took it to the gas station to fill it up I set the auto fill tab and went in to get a drink. When I came out it had stopped, but there was probably a good gallon of gas on the ground. I looked up underneath and could see that gas had been coming out of both sides on the top of the tank. Also when I corner hard, a significant amount of gas is coming out. Going to start digging into it later today, any ideas on what could be going on?

Also I forgot to mention, the "check fill cap" light will go on and off while driving

Sounds like whoever did the work didn't seat the gaskets for the fuel pump and filter housings, or omitted them entirely.

That would also be why your CEL is on with a code for the gas cap.

Access panels are under the back seat, you'll either have to take it back to whomever did the work or pull it apart again and reseat or install the housing gaskets.

As it turns out, there are two individual gaskets, one that rests in the tank and one that goes on the fuel filter. They both have to be installed Thanks for the help.
