Electic gremlin problem...

The car is a 2005 Cooper S with the HK.

So what is the problem? Good question... After a short period of time the stereo turns off all by itself. Also, the drivers butt warner turns off at the same time.

The head unit's function buttons are all lit up like they are supposed to when the headlights are on.

All other electrics work fine at all times even after the stereo turns off.

Trying to turn on the stereo does nothing. Pushing the butt warmer button only makes both lights on the butt warmer button flash when pushed.

I have changed the battery out as the car wouldn't start and even with my 2004 Cooper giving it a jump - battery poles to battery poles connection - and absolutely nothing - no dash lights at all even after several minutes like that.

New battery got the car started on the first key turn. The issue does seem to be intermittent.

Any ideas?

I think I'd pull the fuse, or unplug, the heated seats & see if anything changes.

all fuses are good. I'll try pulling the seat warmer fuse to see what happens.
