Superbrightled's notes say canbus LED's will not eliminate hyperflashing: https://www.superbrightleds.com/blog...led-bulbs/293/. They are meant to eliminate "bulb out" warnings (on the dashboard). However, 1st gen MINI do not have bulb out warnings — a brake light can go out and you'd never know unless you checked.
So the way I understand it now, canbus bulbs do have a built-in resistor to defeat a bulb-out check (not relevant for an R53), but it isn't enough to eliminate hyperflashing.

I tried the front bulbs mentioned above from superbrightleds.com. They did not work for me. did not light up at all and the rest of the lights on the car "hyper-flashed". I got these from Amazon, and they work great. Also, they are VERY bright.

Good luck!

For the sided markers and arch lights, I got:
https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...car/1127/2676/
Red for the rear arch markers and amber for the side markers and front arches. All work fine.
For tail lights, I don't have the stock ones, so I can't speak to the bulbs used there... I have these:

To be specific... The side turn signal... You're talking about the light in the side scuttle on the A-panel. Correct? It takes the same bulbs as are used in the arch lights. For the side turn signal and the front arch lights, I used the amber version of this light:

For the rear arch lights, I used the red version of the same.
Hope that helps.
For the front bumper turn signals (main turn signal lights on the front of the car, I used these:
All work well.
Hope that helps

We discussed wiring resistors in this thread. You'd have to do it for all 6 bulbs and the resistors get hot, which could damage plastic or paint. There's almost no space for them in the side signal housings anyway.
