205/45/17 on 7.5 inch wide wheel??

Just got some Craigslist special Rota RB wheels in 17 x 7.5 and was wondering if I can mount the 205/45/17 tires that are currently on my stock 17 x 7 wheels. It's such a small difference I'm guessing it's fine. Any reason I shouldn't?

They will be fine, and give a little better sidewall support for better response in cornering.

The tire will fit on the wheel but may look like the tires are slightly stretched at the sidewalls, depending on the brand.

How do you get better sidewall support running a 205/45/17 tire on a 7.5" wide wheel?

Going by only math, a 205 section width tire is ~8". On a 7" wheel, like the stock wheel, the side wall will be close to straight. This lets the tire move around slightly. Extend the wheel to 7.5", and that same tire now has a very slight stretch, keeping it from moveing around during harder cornering.
