Valeo conversion kit won't fit?
2 Attachment(s)
Hello All,
It's been a while since I've last posted, and unfortunately i come bearing bad news:sad::sad:. A couple of weeks ago, my clutch started slipping, and while on accelerating on an on ramp, it totally crapped out on me. After doing some research, i decided to go with the Valeo single mass conversion kit as it had decent reviews at a price point that couldn't be beat. After receiving it and dropping it off to my mechanic, I received a call a few days later. From what i understand, the Valeo flywheel is supposed to be the same dimensions as the oem, but that wasn't the case I have attached pictures showing the difference in thickness between the 2 (Valeo on the right, hem on the left). As you can see the Valeo flywheel is roughly a quarter of an inch thinner than the poem flywheel. Any insights? Not too clutch savvy, so any help is appreciated! |
It will be fine, we have sold and installed hundreds of the Valeo kits, just tell them to install it as per the instructions, and you'll probably need to bleed the slave (or replace it as it is probably going to fail when they reinstall it.)

Sounds like the slave failed, or there is a large amount of air in the system.
Like I said earlier; the slave is probably failed and needs replaced, they don't fair well to being removed and installed multiple times. MINI Cooper S Slave Cylinder |
Ditto on the slave cylinder, they are a real PITA to bleed, and very fragile when trying to reuse one, even my new one took 4 separate bleeds with the power bleeder to get right.

The disc doesn't engage and the slave cilinder it's bleed after me from a mechanic. I saw before install that the flywheel it's less height of original dualmass. The problem it's from less height? The bearing doesn't arrive to pull the clutch because there is more distance with flywheel monomass? I have R52 S 125Kw year 2004 and the Valeo kit that I buied it's 835024. |
Any updates? I'm probably going to install mine in the fall.
