When do you consider your MINI's birthday to be?
 

Do you consider your MINI's birthday to be the day it was finished being built or the day you picked it up? If you go by build date, Mr. Teeny's birthday is coming up on September 17th...if you go by delivery date, his birthday is October 11th. Guess I may have to give him two birthday parties...lol :grin:

my yuna's birthday (the day i picked her up sep 3 03) is 2 days from now and i got nothing special planned other than washing her the day before and going around for a cruise!

although if i was celebrating it.. .then i'd say the day i picked her up, cuze that's when you actually got her in your hands!

To me the birthday is the day the car was finished at the assembly line in Oxford.


In my case:

'04 MCS, born 9/5/2003 (Delivery: 10/3/2003)

'02 Cooper CVT, born 8/7/2002 (Delivery: 9/7/2002).

Hey everyone... The birthdate is the day that it rolled off of the assembly line. Its like the delivery! The pickup date is more like when it is released from the hospital/delivery room. Released from the delivery room... thats kind of a weird analogy, but thats exactly what happens when we pick up our minis!

How can you tell the date the car was built on? :sly:

As far as I'm concerned, Gypsy's birthday is directly corrolated to the miles she has racked up...she just turned 39 not too long ago (those are cary years) :)

I go by the date I took delivery -- since it's like the adoption and the first look. To me that's the day worth celebrating. :grin:

Let's see, since I ordered my MINI w/ a very specific set of options, I really would have to say that I do realate strongly to the build date....but I'm not sure of that....somewhere around 1/15/03. I took delivery on 1/31/03, but then I worried about it the entire boat ride across the Atlantic (...the TRICOLOR had just sunk) and the road trip to from SC to Dallas (...ice storms).

Darn, still can't decide................I'll get back to ya!

Hey, Kyriian............nice look! I too have a ds/w, '02 MCS, no sunroof, but still have the original 16" V-spokes.....still love the color. A few months ago I installed a silver M7 Ultimate Grill (lower front) that looks absolutely smashing against the dark silver color......quite distinctive.

To answer the original question......the day Zoomer was delivered to me from the womb......er, showroom......9/16/02. That's the way we do it with people, isn't it? :wink:

I will have to go by the build date as it is the same date as my birthday March 18th.

MINIs birthday is the day he was delivered to me - May 1st, 2003 :grin: And yes, I do celebrate...

Well, it's the date that he rolled off the line...which was May 6.

I bought Bruiser off the lot, so I don't know the date he was "born". In the door jamb, it just says 10/02, no actual date. How would I find out when he came off the line?

I consider the door jam date is the "date of conception". My MCS is 10/02

My MINI's birthday for me is the date of delivery from the dealership which was
Feb 10th, 2003.

Birthday=day off assembly line

Anniversary=day I picked it up from the dealer!

For my Mini, his birthday is his completion date, November 11th 2004.
