I've converted Transmission from cvt to manual gearbox 6 speed .. But

Hello every body
Good evening

Just now I finished convert my 2002 mini r50 none-s from Automatic cvt to 6 speeds manual gear box

I replaced
1- both shafts
2- lever with cables
3- starter motor
4- brake pedal with clutch pedal
* new clutch set
* used 6 speed manual gear box
* master cylinder
* sleeve cylinder
* clutch fluid pressure lines

The mini now not start and there's faults about cvt

I have some questions if there's somebody was do it before
What I should do now ?

1- How can I change programs or coding ?
2- is there a relay need to change ?
3- what about wiring, is need to replace ?

I have Autel maxsys pro scanner with programmer

Tnx for all

Regards
Ali from BAHRAIN

Your ecu is designed and coded for an automatic car. It's not reading the 6mt and is telling the car something is wrong.

For example in an auto you put it in park to start it and the comp reads that but a manual you compress the clutch and the comp reads that

cristo Feb 15, 2016 03:22 AM

It has been done, but I don't have the details.
Way Motor Works has done a bunch.
You'll need someone to reprogram the ECU,
and I think there is at least one wiring harness to replace.

WayMotorWorks Feb 15, 2016 06:59 PM

Yes need to send us the computers and we can fix it. The car still thinks it's a CVT so it won't work

Just a stab in the dark, I'm sure there's some kind of neutral switch from the auto, could you not plug that in and trick the computer into thinking it's always in neutral? That should let it start and rev fine.

Hello X757XVeritas

I will try to do something tomorrow
Then I came back again to let you know

Thanx for all
I'm happy for replys

As much as these cars are computer controlled I'm not positive it will work, but that's how I've done it on older vehicles before.

Shawnnn Feb 16, 2016 05:52 PM

Good luck with that but I bet there's no way you will get it to work without getting your ecu programmed.

X757XVeritas Feb 17, 2016 07:43 AM

The switch to let the car start in park and neutral is basically the clutch switch in a manual. An auto car in neutral is basically a manual with the clutch pedal in as far as a computer is concerned.

Also way to be optimistic. I'm just trying to help him out till he can get it tuned right.

Shawnnn Feb 17, 2016 07:59 AM

Can't hurt to try that's for sure. Expensive to get that ecu programmed

Hello dears

Yes I did it
The car starting now normally with the original former ECU

Just i did something in wiring, jumper wire from EWS to ignition switch

The EP still showing in cluster without any effect
The engine working fine
Driving & gear changing so fine

See video 👇🏻

every thing is done and fine without programming or coding

Thanx for every one try to help me

I figured it could be done without programming, that's awesome! Enjoy your new transmission!

Tnx. dear for supports ☺️👍🏻

Great to hear you found a work-around fix!
The 6-speed should last just about forever.

Could you provide some pictures or explain how to do this? I did the exact same swap ( 03 base cvt to 6 speed lsd from 06 s).
