I was looking at the dealer rating area and noticed a review
titled "The Good Guys" for MINI of Universal City.
Am I being paranoid that a review posted by a member whose real name is Sam, who works in sales, is saying how great "Sam" was at MINI of UCS?
Seems fishy

Here's my little fact finding on that review.

The questionable review for MINI of Universal City

Went to universal mini the other day. They were very helpful and cooperative. There was a markup, but they are also one of the only ones that have cars on the lot. Sam was especially helpful, very knowledgeable about the mini. When I am ready to buy, universal is the place for me. Definite five stars!!!
Interesting how in mas_rae, mas = sam spelled backwards.

From the profile of mas_rae:

Location: North Hollywood
Occupation: sales
Interests: cars
EDITED by DiD: further investigation by MCO staff is underway.

If it's any consolation, I ordered my MINI from Universal Mini which, I will probably be picking up early next week. I haven't had any problems with them yet and my salesman (John) has been very cool. I ordered from them before I looked at the dealer rating and was a bit nervous after that but again, so far so good. I am paying a markup but it was half of what another dealer was asking and the money wasn't much of an issue. When I pick up the car, hopefully I'll have nothing but good things to say about them.

Well then, thank you all for confirming that I am not paranoid. And yes, the "mas_"
is Sam spelled backwards is what got me thinking in the first place. Maybe this guy's reveiw should be "wished to the corn field. That would be a good thing, a very good thing."

And to you skrutzen, I wish you good luck. Maybe they have gotten better. One can only hope!

Motor On!!

Everyone,
I wanted to let you know that I attempted to contact the person regarding the above mentioned review of Universal and after 5 days have received no reply. Given this the review has been deleted. Thanks to everyone for letting us know about potentially fraudulent reviews.
