When your mechanic says....

....since we're under the hood...

[Let me begin this by saying that I have the utmost confidence in my mechanic and his troubleshooting & repair skills]

I brought my R50 in for a clutch job and to have new shocks & mounts all the way around. In addition to that work, I had the following done since the car was already torn down:

R & L Control Arm Bushings
R & L Axle Assembly
Clutch Fork
Rear Main Seal
Necessary fluids

I looked over all the old parts and they were completely shot and worn. The clutch fork was broken at the weld. This is an '02 with 102k miles, so the repairs were certainly not too surprising.

Dougal does drive like a new car. Whew...

Looks like you're taking good care of your MINI. I'm sure it drives quite nicely now with those repairs. Loving the white wheels too by the way.

Looks very clean for an 02', white wheels seem to be a very rare thing now on a MINI.

I thought long and hard about those. Hard to find any info on those in the mini. I went with staggs. I needed new suspenders in a bad bad way. My ride is better but stiff.

I looked into the Staggs, but could not find anything regarding long-term usage. My Mini is my everyday car, so I went with the Bilsteins, based mostly upon their known quality. Mine still had the original Delphi shocks in place. We have roundabouts in our town and I flew through those today.
