Strut mounting question

I have an 05s, I just purchased new front struts. Since I have never installed struts I asked a buddy of mine what else I will need for the job. He told me I will need new strut mounts. Is this true, I have had adjustable camber plates put on a few months ago and the shop didn't say anything about the strut mounts being bad. Or is it just a good idea to replace them. Also what else might I need. I only bought struts that was it. I am replacing the struts because I blew a seal on the driver side. Any input on this would be great, suspension is a new world for me.

Adjustable camber plates have strut mounts built into them.
If they're only a couple months old, they should be fine.
What camber plates did you get and what struts are you getting?
Look at the bump stop to make sure it's not cracked or hardened from age.
Are springs stock or different?
You'll need a spring compressor (although can get by without it with some
of the lowered progressive springs).

(Cristro was seconds quicker than I was)

A good trick question...

The reason why it is a trick question is because depending on the adjustable camber plates that you had installed, they may do away with the upper strut mount, because they become the upper strut mount.

So just double check your adjustable camber plates, chances are, they are your upper strut mounts, and you are good to go.

Motor on!

For example the SPC version take the place of the upper factory strut mounts.
