When I got home from work yesterday, my husband said he had a surprise for me. Evidently he wanted to buy me a miniature (1:24) Mini for my desk at work but couldn't find one in pepper white. So he bought a red one and custom-painted it for me in the exact scheme I ordered (p-white with black top and side mirrors, chrome bumpers, etc etc)!!
So sweet...and slightly obsessive. That's my baby! |
Awwwwww...

What a great husband you have!
My boyfriend got me a scale model of my MINI.....but I don't know if he would have painted it to match if it hadn't in the beginning.....that is so thoughful and sweet! |
aww, glad to see your husband cares so much about you, your taste in cars, and Blanche

I was going to give my wife my first Mini
but she likes her Toyota Echo. Go figure! |
LOL, tell him I said yeah yeah yeah, that's so cute, but I need hard info! I have 3 BRG MINIs of various scales from 1:43 to 1:18. My personal MINI is BRG with a black roof and mirrors, whereas all the diecast ones have white roof and mirrors. So, I have to paint them. Did the one he made for you look all brush-stroky? The mirrors will be easy, but I want the roof to look smooth...What paints/brush did he use?
 |
PittsburgMark, it doesn't look brush-stroky at all. I'll find out what brushes and paints he used. He's put together quite a few 1:43 model kits (mostly Porsches) and is v v meticulous!
