Anyone carry a bike inside?

Hi, I did a search and returned a lot of threads, just nothing that was what I was looking for...

I'm moving down to the lower 48 finally this summer and am thinking about an R53 (maybe R56, but I like the R53 better!)... I'm a pretty avid cyclist and the majority of the places I'm likely to be stationed won't allow me to ride my bike to work due to a number of reasons...

So I plan to take my bike with me to work in my car and ride at different locales on the way home...

Since I don't feel comfortable leaving my bike on top or on the back of a car all day while I'm at work, I'm trying to find out if anyone transports their road or mountain bike inside their MINI? I ride a 56cm road bike for reference...

Thanks!
Chris

It will fit flat with seats down and both wheels off. Done it with a roadie.

I've fit a mountain bike with the front wheel off and the handlebars cranked to one side, no problem. Seats down, of course.

I've done it the same as the others. Front wheel off, handlebars to the side. QRs make it a breeze.

I use a Dahon folding bike, which is excellent. If you haven't tried one, you might be surprised as to how good they are.

I use a Mini Do More Hidden Hitch and a Allen hitch rack for moving my bikes. I do put the bike inside sometimes if it is raining or for security. The 54cm road bike fits inside if both wheels are removed, same for the medium full suspension mountain bike, both wheels need to come off.

Yup, a bike will fit with the wheels off. But a better bet is to just go with a roof rack

If my wife can fit four Mini tires and four C6 Corvette tires, I'm sure a bike will fit. Don't ask me how she did it, but I have a picture for proof. She was getting the tires replaced on her Mini and my Corvette while deployed, so she sent me pictures of them loaded.
