Mystery Button Holes On E-Brake Housing?

Hi all. I tried to search for this but couldn't come up with anything. I noticed this morning that on either side of the plastic housing under the e-brake, that there are two nubs that look like they cover holes for switches or buttons. Does anyone know what these are for? Or do they just cover the bolts that hold the housing in place?

Sorry if this is a silly question..

dang good question, maybe for the rear-window controls on the 'vert? (or was the center console redsigned for 2005?)

how about ...

E-Brake Cable Adjusters !

... and if you loose one down the hole, it take dismantling the heat shields to find it ...
