Give me your MPG's!!

I know this has been posted before but it's always nice to see fresh data.

What kind of mpg's is everyone getting? Be specific in regards to how you drive and speeds and rpm's and such other factors.

02 R50, 97,500 on the odometer. 24 city and 37 Hwy. Never exceeded redline but I do drive it like I stole it....lol.

I don't respond to these threads for the reason I'll soon share. Your 'popcorn' guy looked so hopeful it near broke my heart, so here's why.
People ask about the mileage I get all the time. My stock response is: "I don't care, If I cared about that I'd be driving something else, this one is for fun and fun is priceless."

RycheOn Sep 18, 2014 03:15 PM

So....you respond to this thread just to tell us why you don't respond to these threads? 😀

Humor is sometimes hard to convey online....
He was suggesting, with a heavy dose of satire, to do a search....aka...you take the time to do some research....and he will take the time to help you out...
There are maybe 2-3 current threads, gen1, open with mpg stats....
Me...
I typically do 28-32 mpg combined....run 72 mph, with 2 days of bumper to bumper...obc tells me 45 mph avg for the tank...car is tuned...and my obc vs hand calculations are within about 1/2 mpg....I run 93 octane, and typically shift around 5500 rpm....my car is dynoed to 200 HP to the wheels with the mods....if I have a "fun" group ride...mpg ends up 22ish....
AC is always set "lo" to make the car beer cooler cold (in the summer)....enough to get condensation on the extior glass and fog my sunglasses when I get out.....

AudioNToxication Sep 18, 2014 05:58 PM

118k. 4k on new motor. 228whp. Mixed city/highway average 29mph on the last tank. 22mpg, which is better than the last few tanks at 21mpg. My obc lies saying I am getting about 27mpg.

Oh and I generally shift when I feel it's appropriate for the conditions but I'm not at all afraid to spin it to 7200+ probably do it a couple times each day.

Comparing MPG is much like comparing petcock size. You'll get lots of BS

I'm getting about a solid 21-22 MPG.

get on fuelly mang

Fly'n Brick Sep 18, 2014 09:46 PM

Thanks for having my back there, Zip, but actually I posted that purely on a whim. I do get asked quite often about this subject from people on the street and my response, as stated, is well rehearsed. I saw the thread, took a peek inside and thought I'd just share my standard reply here as well. Couldn't hurt and it just might get a smile from someone. Everyone has a unique take on their MINI just as every MINI is unique. Good, lighthearted humor is in short supply here on NAM.

RycheOn Sep 18, 2014 10:32 PM

It's very true humor is hard to portray in text....as my initial response has a smiley face code at the end that just doesn't seem to show on here.

I came from a 800hp Cadillac CTSV so my Mini GP2 seems like it's electric. Didn't you buy the car knowing it was a good on gas, but had more guts and personality than a Prius. Focus on power or suspension, way more fun topics

Fresh data: 70-80 mph on i95 from NH to RI, then some intown RI driving, which is 25 mph... BORING and no good corners in narragansett area other than a few, and lots of stop signs. Filled up yesterday with 2 WOT pulls OBC said 29.7 actual:29.5

normally to and from work is ussually low traffic, so i get to have fun and ill get about 27-29 in summer, winter i get about 24-26 only because the man waters down my fuel ( not metioning my slidding around corners like a rally car)

dannyhavok Sep 19, 2014 04:35 PM

I've gotten as good as 39MPG on long flat highway trips cruising at 100-110km/h, but in mixed driving (I go through the city and then a long stretch of highway to and from work) as well as thrashing it on the weekends a bit, I get 26-27, generally. I'm not shy with the throttle and I'm often at or above 5K RPM and 120-135km/h.

Disregard, fuelly link not working.
