I have tried searching with no luck.
How much should it cost to get the trans fluid changed in the CVT? is $400 a good price?
Does it have to be serviced at a mini dealer or should any dealership shop be able to do it?

The mini dealer gave me the price $400 but they are 2 hours away. They allso sad they need to use a special machine.
I called the bmw dealer in town and they are going to call me back with a price tomorrow.

 

Don't have all the answers for you, but the CVT fluid itself is special so if you have another shop do it, you need to know what the right fluid.

Search here on the forum for CVT fluid and you will see what you need.

The special machine is that it is made to extract and refill the fluid thru the weirdly placed access ports.

Also, it is not just a matter of replacing the fluid. There is a post fluid sequence you do to get the car to work with the new fluid.

I paid the dealer about that much for mine.
