Pacific Northwest Mini Shops

So for those of you who saw my first post, i picked up my '05 MCS a few weeks ago. I am now looking to do the Alta 17% pulley, belt, plugs kit. But i have a few questions.

-I am obviously not using this for track purposes so the build up of heat from the 17% pulley shouldn't really cause the amount of heat soak that track use shows. Is there any preventative maintenance aside from a belt tensioner that should be done at the same time?

-Pulley tool. Is this completely necessary to do the job? I am looking at the cost of the tool and it appears that it might just be a few more bucks to have a local shop do the work. If so, anyone in the PNW have any suggestions?

-Supercharger health (Back around the 17% discussion) is this really going to overspin the supercharger to the point where it could give out? I only have a 6 mile drive to work and most of my trips are short distances. I highly doubt i will generate the heat that some long distance commuters do.

Thanks again for the help from everyone, the culture here on NAM is far better than many of the other communities i have belonged to.

-Ian
