R50/53 White "Valeo" sticker on back of key...
trippy- nice!! I was brainwashed by someone here and kept using my 'other' key
from time to time which was a pita cause I keep my spares in a fire-safe box
hidden somewhere in the house.
Anyway, my question is...let's say your CR2032 lithium died and need to be
replaced. would the codes in the chip need to be re-programmed at the dealer or
is the code a ROM which will never loose memory?
When I got my keys from the dealer, that valeo sticker looked like crap...thought
i bought a used car.
took it off immediately upon getting home.

The code is in ROM so do not worry about the code vanishing. The reason the dealer suggests using both keys is when they insert the key in their key reader, it will have close to the correct mileage and most recent engine fault codes. When you take your car in for service, give them the key you used to drive the car to the dealer.
