Isn't the F40 (or F50 now) the car that Ferrari monitors the electronics on (such as a computer that shows you such things as how hard you drive it, i.e., speed, etc.), and you have to drive it hard (such as with track days) or they won't like it? I'm not sure what they can do if you don't, maybe not sell you another one. If that's the car, it is a racing car built for the street and really very expensive.

Ferrari Enzo

Went to the vintage car races in San Diego a couple of weeks ago and there was a Ferrari Enzo in the Car Corral area always with a big crowd around it. At the end of the day, the owner? a hot looking 20 something girl got in and drove away. The crowd was hushed as she started it and....

It sounded like a sewing machine as she slowly pulled out at 5 MPH. I said to somebody next to me, is that the hybrid Enzo? Maybe she was nervous with 100 people watching, but come on, at least a little chirp of the tires would have been appropriate. Very underwhelming.

Car looked good though

I've seen real F-40s circulate the track at Spa Francorchamps in speeds approaching that of Formula 1 cars. I seriously doubt that you saw the real McCoy.

Could it have been one of these?

LOL... having just rode in an Element who's driver was a little heavy on the gas (and will probably need a new clutch witin a year), I can say that the Element will probably shoot off the line faster than the MINI (they didn't say whether it was a Cooper or an S). It's gearing is very low (4k rpm in 5th=80mph) and it does have pretty good torque. I'm sure the MINI could easily pull away as the Element needs to be shifted and the MINI has another 10 mph to go in that gear. Either way, bring on the twisties...

At the CART race in Denver last year, Ferrari had a booth set up and there was an Enzo parked in it. The crowd was huge around it. It took 5 min. to get a peak at it, but what an amazing car. I understand it costs $1500.00 to do an oil change on it. Can you imagine? OMG!!

His, Chile RED over, Madness intake, Magnaflow exhaust, Helix 15% Pulley & RDR Swaybar
Hers, Electric Blue / Union Jack on top and BONE Stock
That probably one of the best racing vids I've seen.

I wish american club racing was like that.

i didnt learn anything in this forum but i thought it was funny that somebody thought that a 4cylinder could "smoke" a ferrari....so this thread was more amusing that factual to me..
the only cars ive really "smoked" are the honda tuners and a toyotas
i also had a real nice time embarassing a honda s2000
i was on the interstate and i saw this honda with a nice girl in the passenger seat. I came up next to it and put my car in neutral and revved my engine the honda did the same and threw it self into gear a second later. I quickly went into 5th and floored the pedal, The s2000 was maybe 2 feet ahead I went into 6th and i was already at 105+ I accelerated untill the honda was 1/4+ mile back..i slowed down to see the driver again...when I looked by i saw the blonde in the passenger seat yelling at the driver and then she looked at me i waved and gave them a cocky look which felt very pleasing
i bet this ***** wanted to be in my car.....i mean who wouldnt?
