I finally got around to waxing my MINI today. It's first coat of wax and my first detailing experience. Spent all afternoon washing and waxing and buffing, really took my time. Hours went by before I knew it. I have to say it was a very meditative experience and a great way to get to know a new car.
I remember seeing a few other posts about this. I think I understand now.

theres nothing like washing a new car for the first time its kind of like bonding but with a car

Each time I find more things that need to be added to the cleaning and detailing routine to keep "Pepper" looking new and unabused. Now after 20 months of ownership the need to see a shiney, "new car clean" car in the parking lot is boarderline obsessive

To think it all started with a little "bonding"

I have a shrink for a neighbor and she thinks it is a very inexpensive form of therapy.
