Mini not cranking and starter is brand new

Hey guys,

I am hoping that somewhere there is someone that can give me some amount of guidance...

The other day I went to my car to head to class and it wouldn't start. There was no starter noise at all or anything. So the obvious assumption was that the starter was bad. We took the starter off and brought it in to have it tested, it failed the test and I cheered. Ordered a new starter and installed it today and I still have the same problem...the starter isn't making any noise what so ever.

My battery is fine, it was just replaced a few months ago. My car was working just fine the day before.

I am stumped and scared that I am no the proud owner of a 2000 lb paper weight.

Please offer up any advice you might have

Just because its a fairly new battery does not mean it is OK. Get it checked out anyway. Check the battery connections.

Connections are good...battery has more than enough juice to turn the starter...still no starter.

Can you turn your headlights on? Check the voltage in the battery with a meter. If that checks out could be a fuse if your starter was bad maybe blew a fuse the last time you tried to start it.

Yeah the headlights turn on. The fuses are all good (checked those out right after the new starter didn't work) I am thinking it may be a bad security module in the car. So far that is my best guess...but I just want to know if others have ever had this problem. My clutch sensor switch is working correctly.
