Hey, i'm working on a new MINI movie to show the real power of the MINI. and its gonna be very over-produced and very entertaining for everyone. It is going to show the MINI cornering at high-speeds and going threw cones fast and perfectly. For all the people who dislike me, you will freak out.

well, release date coming VERY shortly.

Thanks
Nick

Now....how come I JUST KNEW the conversation would eventually turn to being about "your site"......pretty old stuff you pull.....REALLY old......

JuanPacoLopez 05-04-2004 07:44 AM

Not only is it yet another "hidden" plug for his "site", which he was already temporarily banned for, but he's going to CHARGE MONEY for a "hi-res" movie of a MINI driving through cones ON CD.

hondacivic: While I truly appreciate your enthusiasm, and think it's great to have another MINIac who is so enamored... you seem to miss one fundamental point about people, so here's a tip:

To get people to visit your site, or to buy your "video" you have to offer them something of value. I've been to your site, and there is NOTHING there that hasn't already been covered (in abundance) elsewhere. Even your "features" are almost exactly like NAM's offering but with SUBSTANTIALLY (read: almost none) less content in any area.

The whole selling the video on CD thing highlights my point even further... firstly I'm not sure I know anyone who would pay money for a CD containing a video that (I'm assuming) is compressed using one of the normal video codecs (windows media, qt, mpeg, etc.), ESPECIALLY when you offer the same thing (but lower res) for download on your site.

I think it's great that you want to make a MINI video... just don't get your hopes up that people will actually buy it. If you DO decide to sell it, at least make it value-added. If you converted it to a widescreen (16x9) format and offered it compressed/burned as a straight mpeg2 DVD that I could watch on my HDTV setup I might, actually, consider paying a couple $$ for it.

Understand, I'm not trying to deter you from being a MINIac or participating in the community fully; rather, I'm offering you some advice as a fellow motorer on how to get people to take you more seriously and to use your enthusiasm to benefit the community as a whole.

MINI Movie? Are you kidding?

One of the BEST ever is the Fearless Al Video on MINImeet.ca! It captures everything that's great about the MINI, including MINIacs, camaraderie, MINIs touring together, MINIs boating together, MINIs on a race track - you name it, the Fearless Video has it all.

Best news? It's FREE!

Join us at MINImeet 2004: The Wolfe Island Adventure and be in the movie yourself. There's still space available - don't miss the boat!

Actually I'm kinda curious as to what it means for a movie to be "over produced," and how such a thing is any sign of quality...

As old as seeing "come to my site" is getting, you guys should chill out on the kid just a little. He's only 15...he just really wants people to visit his site which he is very proud of, thats all
