R50/53 So Few Black Roofs..
Wanda is jet black/jet black and I love her! My first MINI, "MINIclo," was pure silver/pure silver and she was very pretty! I like all the combos, but HAD to have all jet black!
Clo, is Wanda jet black/jet black, or jet black/(standard black roof)???
That question somehow never occurred to me before, for any black MINIs. I'm guessing that cosmos or jet black people have a much higher percentage order of the body-colored roof?

When I tried to build my MCS in black originally, it only allows me to have body color roof and white roof as options. In this case, body color is jet black. I think the same thing applies to PW as well.
Forgot to mention that my favorite color MINI for the black roof is pepper white. That color combo is simply sublime. I saw one on the dealership floor and was entranced, despite my eternal preference for CR/W. It looks like an irresistibly tasty oreo cookie... a very heavy and very fast oreo cookie that costs $20,000.
I also think that the (late) silk green looked phenomenally good with black roof.

The way i heard the white roofs came about was that the factory mini team used to paint the roofs white so the pit crew could see them easier comming in. When i had my first mini it was a 1966 Cooper S with the popular BRG and white roof. I repainted it but that is another story.Proud member of the BRS, black roof society

Just took a car to the painters yesterday, (not my
MCS), and he said, "Black is black" in solid color.
He meant that there is really no noticable difference
in black paint, leaving out metalic black of course.
What do you guys think?
Godspeed.

If you have ever been shopping for blackclothes or shoes with your wife/girlfriend you will know that there is a difference. At least they are convinced of it.

haha thats not a bra it's tape so all the freaking sand and gravel at Willow Springs dosent ruin his pretty MCS...and my mini is black on black so there...and yeah back in days when they raced these little thangs they were easy to spot on the track with the white roofs!...imagine that!
>>I seem to see WAY more DS/W than DS/B. Why, I dont know because DS/B is sharp, imho.
Exactly why I ordered mine in DS/B! Stealthy...easy to keep clean...looks good with the sunroof...and not a common as the W combo.
Besides, there's something about "W" that really, really, really bugs me!
Note to moderators...please don't bump this over to off topic--politics.
