Boy Howdy! I just got a flyer in the mail from Brecht MINI, and they've got 50 MINIs for immediate delivery! Just the little matter of their HUGE effing mark-up standing in the way! If you really need a MINI, and don't mind bending over a little to far, they'd be glad to see ya! Seriously, tho, the flyer announces the'r "Grand Opening", and is the FIRST contact I've had with Brecht that THEY initiated. Waiting list gets tossed, phone calls don't get returned, no wonder many San Diegians were turned off. Their mailing list is now just an advert tool. Curiously, they are proud they delivered their 10th MINI in their first two months of operation. Yawn. Are there really 50 MINIs? Didn't I hear this before? At this point, I don't care.

BCNU,
Rob in Dago

Either those first 10 Mini's were delivered to management/staff, or there's 10 stupid people out there willing to pay through the teeth for one. Or desperate potential Mini owners in search for one without waiting lists. And then there's of coarse the one who has too much money to care in the first place.
Either way, after hearing all the complaints about this dealer, maybe we should all start a pool in seeing how long they last. Tee hee heeeeee.
Cheers,

 Oh, Brecht will last only because of the cars they sell--MINIS. But... it will take years for them to erase the bad rep they have created. We all know they have got a lot of nerve. Lots of Mini dealers participate in over-pricing. With Brecht, it has shown in the way they have treated potenial Mini buyers( oh so very smug at times ), people who waited on the list and hounded them for months( no communication to these folks what so ever), that has caused me the utmost disapointment in their Mini lot. The fact that the cars continue to sit on the lot will eventually effect how many they are alloted from BMW on a monthly basis. Maybe then they will be forced to sing to diffenet song. I will not hold my breath and will continue to direct all potenial buyers I come in contact with to Irvine and Long Beach. As I come closer to my first maintenance visit, I wonder what the service will be like on the 'new' lot. Went well from the BMW side over the recall issue. But I do not look forward to it at all. Maybe I will change my mind and head up to Irvine. Since I must take the day off for the visit anyway. We must remember to rate these visits!!
Motor On!!
