Couldn't guess about "non game day". Nice MINI Dave. Spent some time in the Denver area and recognize some of the places.

Yeah well, it is the Colorado Rockies we're talking about.

I'm gonna ask for a little leeway to post some non MINI pics in a MINI thread, since they were all taken today on the same trip around town.

All pics taken at the Tabor Center unless otherwise noted.

My favorite are the escalator pics. j/k. Are you studying photography?
Just noticed that you don't have a front plate. All this time, and all the pics that you've showcased, and it's now that I noticed that.
Love that lowered stance shown at the Blake St. pic and the Coors Field pic.
You the man cool guy. Keep 'em coming.
Cheers,

Did you ever see the old Montgomery Wards building they tore down in I think University?? Here in Ft. Worth we still have ours which the Denver one was a exact duplicate built one year later in 1927.

>>Just noticed that you don't have a front plate.

Not all states require front plates. I'm in Fl and I don't have one.

Love those Yokos....

dave Oct 19, 2002 09:13 PM

Colorado does require a front plate, I just have chosen not to install mine. Thus far, no problems. *knock on wood*

I have never had a photography class, although that may change soon as I'm thinking about taking one.

I don't remember a Montgomery Wards building. There was a May D&F building and a Denver Drygoods building which were both built right around that time. The May D&F building was torn down. As I remember that store use to have an outdoor ice rink in the winter.

:cool:Dave, these pics are so good! You don't need to TAKE a class...you should be TEACHING photography! Really good compositions and the Coolpix is doing the trick! Your S looks fantastic!

Cheers!

The old Denver Montgomery Wards building was razed in the early 90s. It was HUGE and beautiful, sort of northeast, across The Valley Highway from the Gates Rubber plant. It was one of those demolition events when it was taken down. It was always a great landmark from my childhood.

I spent hours as a kid going up and down the elevators of the old Wards
building.
I was kinda sad when the enploded it.
The old May D&F tower pics, also
brings back thoughts of childhood fun of going up and down the esclators
in the department store.
Great PICS DAVE---- The new toy seems to take much crisper images.

Dan: AH, ok. For some reason I was just thinking of buildings right in downtown. Thanks for clarifying the location.

I didn't get a chance last night to upload pics to the MCO gallery. I'll have to do that late this afternoon when I get home from work. The pics are downloaded off of the memory card onto my hard drive at home.

BTW, here's the link for my imagestation album for the Denver Non MINI pics Sorry about imagestation requiring you to register to view the pics.
