I'd get me an RX-7 shipped over from Japan...or maybe a Skyline...

MC strip it and turn it into a race car for Grand Am or Speed Vision World Challenge complete with carbon fiber dody panels, proper race engine, straight cut gears (if allowed) and LSD. Essentially spend 20 some on the car itself and the balance race prepping it.

My MCS is a lot of fun for the price but for a bit more I'd get the 350Z Track or Touring model.

That's a lot of cash. I'd be tempted to look at a lot of cars, including the Audi S4, WRX STi, EVO, RX-8, 350Z, M3, S2000, C6 Corvette, etc.

But, knowing what I know now, I'd probably get an MCS and go crazy with the performance mods.

Actually, I'd like to have the first MCS Cabrio with pulley, intake, exhaust, ECU, coil-overs, sway bar, etc. The whole enchilada on an S Cabrio. That would be sweet.

Mine would be green with a green top, and cordoba beige interior.

A WRX STi, different rims, cut-in sunroof, top quality stereo system, upgraded intake/exhaust/boost level. the rest would be to pay insurance for a few years...

We're it available in the U.S. the new (er planned) Audi S3 and a few mods...

This would be a tough one. The only thing that out-handles the MINI is the Elise, though I seriously doubt I could drive that daily here in Motor City (snowmobile Elise?) . Other fine automobiles like the //M3 and S4 are more luxury touring, and handle squishy compared to the MINI. A Boxster would be on the shoping list, but there's no way I can deal with that interior, yuk! I still love the S2000, but they're slower than my Webb EVM MCS, and don't have the handling either. Comes down to it, I'd be in serious debate between the Elise and the MCS. I could get a loaded Elise and buy a winter beater for the few grand left over, or get a fully tricked out MCS with lots of wheel/tire selection. I still lust after ther S2k, but I'm sure I'd blow up that engine in a heartbeat (especially after I bolt on a Comptech blower, hee hee).

Motor-On,
Ryan

The MINI as a daily driver. The Elise if I could have it as a second car only, after my MINI! Practicality for day-to-day, the MINI does very well indeed. Looks-wise, the MINI is better looking to my eye than the insect-like Elise, but it would be nice to have a quick rear drive machine to play in.

another Lotus Elise here- its probably the only car I would want to replace my MINI -

aubergine with biscuit interior and sports pack, touring pack and the hardtop. I WANT ONE! they had a beautiful magnetic blue at the Atlanta Auto show, but it was roped off and only accessible to those that have a deposit already. There were three guys there blocking all the good shots.

I'm in the used M3 camp. I'd try to find an base '02 with mid-mileage so I could then afford the UUC exhaust, short shift, sway bars and track tires. I could afford the track time bacause I would sell my MCS for cash to "enhance" the 50k!

The problem is, $50K isn't a lot of money. If it was me, I'd get a Cooper S, do intake/exhaust/pulley/S-AFC and then get a Hayabusa as my toy.

Yup, I'd get a MINI, spend some for mods and put the rest toward track days, new tires, autocrossing, new tires, and the additional mods I'd end up wanting after being around all the other modded MINI's.

Factory 5 Cobra Coupe (FFR Type 65) with crate big block and Stang donor. I might also have Mr. Roush tinker with it too.

I'd definitely buy a MINI!

I'd get an MCS with pretty much the same setup I've got now, then mod the hell out of it. Probably go for the Dinan set up instead of JCW, just to see what it's like. Might get a roll bar, do some suspension things, etc. I also might get the interior - dash and door bezels - custom painted.

Keep a fund for when the warranty runs out (or to cover what mods have voided). Get some great rims and tires, have another fund for track time, and the wheels, tires and breaks just for the track.

Another fund for insurance and registration...

If there was enough left over (not likely) I'd think about getting a bigger garage with a home attached...

Or, I'd might just nix the MCS and go for a Boxter!
