Help! front bumper cover feels loose

Ok, this is hard to explain, I'm a new cooper owner so bare with me :X

I took my r53 to the beach for the first time today and noticed something dragging on the way out. There was a liner hanging from under the car, this is not the same as the under tray that attaches to the car, but it's between that and the bumper cover. It was ripped and broken so I ripped it off, but now my bumper feels loose, in addition there is nothing to secure the front of the under tray to. What do i do? is there anything else that the bumper secures too underneath or just that liner

Won't bare anything with you, but will try to bear with you.

The under tray attaches with four bolts in the front and two screws in the back, and is sandwiched in between the bumper cover and the body. I don't recall where the air diverter (likely the thing you pulled off) attaches, but you can probably snug up the bumper cover by tightening those four bolts. It's a start, anyway.

Thank you, I have the under tray in my back hatch right now, and I can see where it attaches to the back of the car with two screws ( the two yellow circles in this photo. but the front part (red oval) looks like it slides in to the piece I ripped off. There doesn't appear to be anything to secure the tray to in the front now because that piece is gone. The piece that I ripped off seemed to have bolts in it that secured it to the bumper cover. I wish i knew what it was called or could even find a photo :/

Looking at my bumper, I think what you ripped off is actually the lower part of the bumper cover.
It does hang down and is often beat up by low dips and high parking stops.
The screws definitely go through the bottom of the bumper cover to sandwich the under tray between it and the body.

That sounds exactly like what I ripped off. I wonder if I can find a part number and buy a new piece, or maybe if I buy the oem replacement lip off of ecstuning.com it will come with one.

The "girls guide" to service mode has a bunch of pictures and locations of the bolts, etc...just do the first few steps to pull it off, and check for dammage. It is a pretty easy job....and you just need to do the first few steps to pull the cover.
