2006 R53 MCS vs 2004 MCS stock exhaust note difference

Greetings fellow comrades. I've got a 2004 Cooper S and Love it, however, there is one issue that's bugging me. My friend has the 2006 R53 Cooper S, Also completely stock standard like mine. His exhaust sounds so much better than mine. I know that MINI made improvements to the 2005 onward models, but is there something I could do to get mine to sound like his? Anything? I want to keep my standard small tailpipes tho His is more Rumbly and Popping. Mine only pops a few times at Low RPM and you have to be standing right behind the car to hear it :( .

You want to keep ..... just the stock tailpipes? Or the complete stock exhaust?

It's probably possible to keep the stock tailpipes and get something together with a bit more growl...

I believe the '05/'06 models were the only ones with computer controlled "pop and burble".

I just want to keep the stock tail-pipes. One Ball sounds like my best option right now. That's intresting. I wonder if a software work around will change anything

I have an '04 as well. After the one-ball, you will get more "pop and burble" and a deeper sound. No drone. And its cheap!
