R50/53 Cracked head

Cracked head
Hey guys, 03 MCS 90K miles, car was overheating and dealer told me blown head gasket, after, they replaced thermostat and expansion tank. They sent the head to machine shop, the shop checked the head and it's cracked. Dealer ordered new head.
Wondering if I should upgrade the cam while its out. The dealer is fixing the car no charge so figured I'd take advantage of the tear down. The car is a daily driver and I don't know if a performance cam will compromise reliability and drivability for daily use? I spoke with the tech and the stock valves and springs are ok. Welcome your thoughts and advice.
