Anyone know how to do this as the UK Haynes manual is different to mine.

 

I got up early this morning and figured it out. The top of the dash has to come off to get at the air bag and cover.

 

I just did this to my 04 MC this weekend..

You will be looking for:
4 screws on the sides of the dash to pull top of dash completly off
2 bolts to remove the retaining bar that holds cover when airbag deploys
6 screws around shroud which hold it all in.

FYI
Disconnect battery before you do any of this as you are working around the airbag

Does the top of the dash just pull up and off? I undid the 4 torx bolts...felt like I was about to break the cover, though.

Looking at the manual that looks to be it, although they're removing the entire dash - do I need to loosen the 4 big bolts that hold the whole dash up? There's nothing holding the dash cover down in the middle?

Nevermind on this one...found that my '05+ isn't as easy as this. ARGH. All I want to do is disable the stupid thing so my navigator doesn't get a rally computer implanted into his skull in case something bad happens on a little TSD rally.
