Aluminum / Steel Skid Plate on an Automatic?

Anyone successfully install an aftermarket (such as Cobalt) aluminum or steel skid plate on an automatic transmission equipped R50/R52/R53? Everything I've read has not confirmed whether or not this is possible. Some vendors indicate manual transmissions only, other indicate nothing, Moss Motors responded either. I'm just looking for confirmation from someone who's actually done it, before I bite the bullet. It's an '05 MCS / R53.

Thanks in advance.

Well, that's very interesting because the description says that it'll only fit manual transmission cars, not automatic. No clearance issues underneath?

no issues that I've experienced. like I said, the dealership installed it for me, so if it was ill-advised or needed any kind of modification, I'm sure they would have said something. It's important to note that when I bought the plate, mini mania didn't have any notation about manual vs automatic transmission.

I'd get someone on the phone at the vendor you're considering to confirm it, however.
