Beat my record of 13.82 gal.. last nite put 13.97 in there. Said I had 2/3 more miles to go.

 

This is a funny time for people to be talking about Cooper tank capacity... because just last night, while I was going to a gas station, my car died at a light stop. The gas station was literally on the other side of the light, so I got out of the car and pushed it across the street and into the gas station.

Based on the reaction of the people around me, I was the first person in years to push a car into that particular gas station.

It didn't help that I was in the Hollywood area too....

I filled up 15.1 gallon before it clicked.

 

When it clicks for the first time, I'm usually able to add another gallon or so, by dripping it all the way full, haha. It makes sense to wait. Little tough, because gas is so foamy. After it clicks for the first time, just wait a couple seconds and let it "breathe" and then slowly add more gas until it stops again. Then wait another couple secs and slowly start filling it up again. I usually do that until I can see the gas :D

 

I have ran mine out multiple times mainly due to the ethanol threw off my trip remaining meter by 100 miles per tank. 45 mile commute to work id fill up once a week. ethanol gets added to.the gasoline and day five gets a fuel stop instead of the weekend. It ran out several times in my yard. Twice when it said i had 3 miles left to got. Before i got to the --- and could go 50 miles if i babied it. 14 gallon almost every fill up and few were 14.9 or 15. Once it got 17 gallons with a quarter tank left! I have never stopped at that crooked station again. The farthest ive ever made it was before the ethanol i filled up in flagstaff Arizona and drove 503 miles before the fuel light came on. The next fuel stop was a luvs truck stop in amarillo tx that crappy gas got me 302 miles before the light came on. I averaged 400 per tank until the ethanol and then i was doing good to get 300. It 13 til the light then the 2 gallon reserve the needle shows empty that low.

 

Filled up 15.1 gallons yesterday. The car said I could go another 15 miles, but it was slightly uphill and I wasn't sure where the next gas station was, plus we were sort of in the middle of nowhere (Page, AZ) . The gas station did not have a level filling area, so I made sure the gas cap side was the high side and then just kept dripping it full until the wife was sick of it, haha.
