Amber rear turn signals (on an '06 MCS)

Based on what I could find here so far, my girlfriend and I are the only people in the world who *want* amber turn signals.

So, what're the options? Are there any OEM or aftermarket rear lenses that have all four of:

- backup lights
- brake lights
- amber turn signals
- running lights?

It seems like pre '05 the backup light was centered over the exhaust and amber lenses were an option, and in '07+ the backup lights were in the rear lenses and amber signals were an option. But for '05-'06 red turn signals were all there were, (and are)

The '05-'06 taillights have red turn signals only in the US/Canada. Everywhere else, the turn signals were amber (I believe actually required in Europe). You can replace your taillights with OEM European taillights. I and some others in the forum did exactly that. You're not the only one who wanted amber turn signals.

You can order OEM European taillights from overseas vendors. I purchased mine from NewMINIStuff in the UK. You have two choices.

Good! I don't really understand why amber signals haven't been mandated in the US yet.

!!! right on! That was easy. I (thought I) looked everywhere. Thanks!

I gotta wonder, why do they charge VAT for export? I thought there was a refund on VAT when stuff got taken out of the country.

Email Mick first about VAT and then email again right after order just in case, they try to charge VAT once in a while, but newministuff are good guys, but still email them.

Vat

I sent him email, and sure enough, no VAT. The VAT gets removed at a step after "chose shipping" which I hadn't gotten to yet.

Thanks for the hint.

We ordered a set of these from newministuff way back in 2006. Quick shipping as I recall and an easy install. We're still running them, and they're the only set I've ever seen here in the USA.

And, yeah, rear indicators should be amber.

Count me in as a strong supporter of amber signals. Besides my truck (which usually has a trailer behind it) all of our vehicles have amber.

Really should be a requirement for so many reasons.

I agree with "fhdogs" that they should be a requirement.

I thought about getting a couple of rear light clusters when we were in the UK, so we'd get amber turn signals. But the MINIs over there also seemed to have red turn signals, so I gave up on the idea.

I just swapped my BMW's tails to Euro Spec as well..... Red turn signals belong to 1970's American Cars........
