15% pulley upgrade questions...

Hey all, I'm pretty new to the world of mini's and of course modifying them. I purchased an 05 MCS and absolutely love it. It's just a blast to drive. It came with the K&N Typhoon CAI already installed and well...I want more! I was thinking about doing the 15% pulley mod but just want to know if it's worth it and basically what the positives and negatives would be. For instance lowered gas mileagle etc. Thanks for helping a newbie out!

Your milage will go down a bit, but other than that its all positives. Its really the best power MOD you can do for the price. Talk with Way, he normally has a Kit with a few extras for a good price.

Way Motor Works. He is a vendor and frequent poster on NAM. You should be able to find him in the vendor section or just do a quick Google search for Way Motor Works and you will be good to go.

There are a ton of posts on pullies...do a quick search...
mpg is more a matter of how you drive than from the pullie....
Tons of info, but the 15% is the most common/cost effective power mod.
As stated waymotorworks.com is a great place for mini parts....the owner lives/breathes mini's and the kit he sells is perfect for the purpose, and priced right. His site is not fancy, but he does lots of stuff by phone....so anything you want, new, used, aftermarket or oem, he has it. Very knowledgeable, an actual mini certefied tech who once worked at a mini dealer, so he knows the cars, both in the shop and the classroom.
Just a reminder...the pulley install needs a special tool to get the factory pulley off...a generic one will not work...
also look st you pulley....if it is anything other than a black hot pressed pulley (no boltholes), you have one...many used cars these days have one already installed....

Yes a pulley will be your best bang for the buck mod.

Here is the pulley kit that was mentioned
