What's need to bring car from CA to DC?

I have a 2002 MCS that will be shipping out to my daughter for college over to Wash DC from CA.
What do i need to service/replace on the car before transporting it over?

It has 73k mi and nearly mint condition.

Thanks for the help.

A big check!!
Not be be a smart zzz, but I could not resists!!
Just make sure everything is done on the required mantance, inspected, and working.
depending on where in CA the car is comming from, you might want to check that the tires are appropriate (all seasons should be fine for the DC weather, summers would be dangerous in the cold or snow).

Eng Mt.

Just be sure the upper eng mount is ok, because she will see the fluid stain in the eng bay and think something is wrong. If she's not savvy they'll try to take advantage of her at the dealer/repair shop.

Nope. The '02 doesn't have the fluid filled mount of the 05+ (and some late '04's IIRC). It's solid.

To the OP, do you mean so that's it's ready for the environment of DC, or the trip? Other than tires, and a check of the coolant mix, the maintenance needs are similar.

Oops! I stand corrected, forgot about that.

yes, for the DC metro area, any special precautions?

She will be driving the car for the next 3 yrs there.

Should i replace all the hoses, tuneup, and swap in all seasons tires?
anything else?

Other than standard maintenance stuff, I don't think there is too much to worry about. There's nothing really special here in DC other than some bad roads here and there, and maybe the occasional snow storm. There are 5 MINI dealerships in this area, so getting service is easy. Also, two very active MINI clubs that can take care of her, C3M and DCMM
