For those of you who bought and had MINI's delivered from other dealerships and are having them serviced at a local dealership: anyone having issues w/ the quality or promptness of service? Hoping to hear that everything is going well for those who beat price or wait-time and are getting work (warranty or otherwise) done closer to home.

I'm extremely lucky to have one MINI dealer within a half-hour drive and another 10 minutes away! I bought my MINI at John Roberts MINI in Dallas mostly because Moritz MINI (nearer to home in Arlington) wasn't quite opened yet. Now I have service done at Moritz..........they've been awsome to work with, but I have no complaints at John Roberts either. Its just a convenience thing for me at this point!

I bought at Crevier and they do the service. However, on my first service they forgot to set the counter back and on the way home I had to stop at Brecht Mini and have them reset it. I was done in about 10 minutes. I Did not buy there but got excellent service there.

I bought my MINI at Herb Chambers. All my service is done at MINI of Peabody...enough said.
I will NEVER return to Herb Chambers! |
I bought at Hassel, which is an excellent dealership both n sales and service, but since I live in CT, I have my car serviced at New Country, I have no complaints, they are fast, friendly and I get treated as if I were their #1 customer, including a loaner if my car has to stay overnight or I need to get around during the day.

i bought my MINI 20 minutes away from Morristown MINI in NJ. Great sales people. Service - ok sometimes, terrible and unacceptable others. I now service at Prestige MINI one hour away. Phenomenal service!!!

Actually bought mine used at Carmax, so can't comment on the sales thing.
The service department at Downtown MINI in Orlando is outstanding. They really like the car, and are willing to put up with a customer wanting to talk about it. Good people, good service, highly recommend them. |
The car is from Wisconsin, bought it at Carmax in Schaumburg, IL, take it to Patrick Mini in Schaumburg.
Excellent service:) I paid once because I got towed (illegaly in my opinion, not me parking illegaly) So I had them check it out. Better safe than sorry. Wasn't expensive. Get treated well there:) |
I'm in the same boat as greatgro. Bought at Morristown, serviced at prestige. Unbelievable service. They fix things I don't even know are broke. They replaced my PCV valve last time because they thought it wasn't sounding right. Wonderful service.

The Southern California MINI dealers provide unbelievable service too -- unfortunately, it's unbelievably bad...

Bought my 03 MCS at Mini of Hawaii when I lived in Ca. I now live about five miles from Jackie Cooper Mini here in Edmond Okla. They are a new dealership for Mini, but not for BMW. Jackie Cooper has had the BMW dealership here in OKC for serveral years. I don't know anything about their service to report.

I live in North Eastern New Jersey near Prestige Mini, but didn't by my MCS there due to a long wait. I bought mine at Mini of the Hamptons (no wait) and alwaya had the service done at Prestige. Prestige Service is great and they could care less than I didn't buy from them.

Bought mine from Julie @ Classic MINI, but will be servicing it @ Rasmussen in Portland, OR. When I spoke to the service advisor, Ann, over the phone, she seemed very friendly. I don't think it should matter where the car was purchased, the service should be the same.

Bought my MCS @MINI of the Hamptons...70+ miles from my home.
Service my MCS @ Hassel MINI... 5 miles from my home. I have NO complaints. Hassel has been good 2me & my MCS!!!!!! Peace, D |
Bought my car from Morristown MINI (15 min. from my house) and use Prestige (45 min away) They usually can get me in faster, and they are an excellent dealership. Never have had an issue with my car being bought elsewhere.

i haven;t had any experience with mini after-sale service yet...knock on wood  . however, with my other car, the service advisor of the dealership where i didn't buy the car said he didn't care where the car was purchase as long as i am keeping bringing it back..he said they make more money in service than with new car sale.

I bought my cooper s used, and have had it to mini of peabody once for an extended stay. It needed loads of warranty/ recall-tsb work. I was without it for a week. The face to face aspect of the experience was fine, but I pickup up the car after hours, it was absolutely filthy, greasy fingerprints all over the windows, a few stray bolts from the sunroof loose in the car, and the steering wheel is now crooked. And get this, they changed the oil filter housing, changed the filter but DIDN'T CHANGE THE OIL. So I can't say as though i'm totally satisfied. But I never called back to ***** either. I cleaned the windows myself, and the bolts are sitting on my desk at work. As soon as I get my hands on an srs tool, i'll straighten the steering wheel myself. I hate bringing my vehicles in for service.
