While surfing on ebay, I can across guy at a wrecking yard in Arkansas selling MC parts. He has parted the car out and has fenders, lights, suspension parts, brake parts, alot of interior parts and the computer parts. His prices do not seem to bad. He has the ECU at $45.00. The car was a VR MC with a CVT and only had 4000 miles on it. Just search in parts for 'MINI COOPER' they have been added to ebay in the last few days.

How hard is it to change an ecu?

 

very hard. you hav to have the bcm look for codes and your dealer would have to reprogram things. we tryed to swap ecu's out of our S's once and the car would not start at all. even having the key chips held up and all. i am not sure why anyone would want it other than ecu company to take it apart and mess with the program.
