R50/53 Production Tracking
Hi,
I ordered my Red/White Cooper S a couple of weeks ago. At first, the web site (MINI USA Owner's Lounge - "Where's my Baby?) indicated the car was on order and showed an estimated production date of 11/15. Less than a week later it was updated to 10/11. My question is, how accurate are these production estimates?
Should I expect the web site to be updated on or about Oct 11, or is that unrealistic?
What's been the average wait for delivery after your order has been placed? (I'm near Detroit, if location affects delivery times.)
As you can tell, I can't wait for the car's arrival! Trying to figure out if it might get here before Christmas!!!!
Thanks,
Satchmo

Hey Satchmo. Welome.
The estimates seem to move around a lot for some people. My estimate moved out by over a month, which eventually meant that I was in the 2nd week of production of the 2003s. Probably before the estimated date arrives, you will be changed to "Scheduled for production" which is more accurate, but still seems to move around by a week or 2 for many people.
It also seems that the MINI tracking site isn't updated as often as it could be. It seems that they only update on fridays, and that the dates on there are all fridays, so your displayed date really means anytime in that week.
Once your car makes it onto a boat, it's about 7-12 days to the US East coast. After that, the times seem to vary quite a bit.
Out of curiousity, where is the Detroit MINI dealer?
Agro.
