Just wanted to see other peoples opinions on the color choices.

I've ordered mine in the Pure silver metallic with black roof...reasoning behind this was I've seen too many Chili Reds and Yellows in the UK and with the silver interior and black leather seats the Cooper looks mean...also as the sun roof pretty much takes up the whole space having the roof in black too hides it. I've seen photos of the Silver/Black model (the UK mini brochure has a few) and it really does look the business....

For me;

Dark Silver with white roof is the shiz-nit. I may throw the Union Jack on top just because I can.

Sounds like you two are on the same page as me. I love the look of silver and Dark Grey.
(My dream car has always been a 911 Turbo in Gun Metal Grey. That or a 928 GTS. Just beautiful.)
I guess I'll make my final decision this weekend when I see them in person.
It's a shame I have to drive to GA just to see one!! Kinda nice in another since we won't be seeing too many of them out here (125 miles, I hope).
Anyone else have an opinion on colors?

My brother's gonna pick up a light silver and black Cooper. I'm going for a yellow and black Cooper S bumble bee.

I don't have a Mini and I have no idea when they'll become available in my area (and I can't afford a new car yet, boo hoo!) but I love BRIGHT RED, I've always loved BRIGHT RED. I'm having trouble with the miniusa web page- don't think everything's up and running yet (?) So I'm not informed of all the color choices.

BR Green with white roof and tan leather seats, and white wheels are essential. When I saw this combo in the showroom, I had to have it. Now I do!!

Since everyone out here where I live are getting the basic non metallic colors + black or white roof, I decided to go for the Dark silver with matching roof and the 17s. I have to wait till December to get mine, but it will sure be worth it.

i am not sure a mini can be anything but cute so i did the red with white roof. my hope is that 2002 models become future collector items and this color scheme seems to be the most widely associated with the new model. plus my car now is dark blue and i want a change! if i could get the Cooper in that S only blue though, well then, i would

Iwas torn between the Silver with the black roof or the red with the white roof, but two things decided it for me, I drive a silver car now so change is good, 2nd the Metalic paint was a $600 option Canadian and I would rather have the fancy climate control gizmo for $520(believe it or not I was trying to keep the cost down, though you wold never know it from my option list)

Yes, This was an issue I struggled with. Felt the MINI didn't look "right" in dark colours.
Torn between the red and white roof w/ UJ and Silver w/ black roof. My wife was keen on the red, but in the end
I decided that it looked sharpest in the latter config. (One of my buddies thought the red was bit of "girlie" car)

My first pick was silver with the silver roof, but I might do like wanair and take another option instead of paying 600$ for the paint. Now, I might go all red or black with the white roof (a little police car look!!!). I have my test drive next Friday, I'll decide when I see what they have in the showroom!

I'm doin' the silk green, body color top, black bonnet stripes on my S. I figure the black sunroof alternating with the body color roof, then the black roof pillars, then the silk green body, then the black body cladding oughta' look sharp. Not classic Mini, but I gotta be different. Besides, the silk green sets off the chrome nicely. I have two dealers within 20 miles (Chicago area), and have looked at all their inventory, but have not seen an emerald green at either location.

Drove both the Cooper and the S. The Cooper was a pleasant suprise, but the S was a kick in the a$$. Not a torque monster, but once you get it past 2 grand it really starts to pull hard. Gonna hafta be mindful of the local constables once I get my hands on mine. 85 mph happens pretty fast, and that's before yur outta fourth gear.

I hate to sound so cheerleaderish but I like them all,the BRG, the Electric blue(wow) The yellow could be a bit warmer(more red in the mix) but with the black roof it looks great, and in the states there is a dark red that we can't get up here in Canada, I think it is called velvet red? Wow what a nice colour. And the Indy blue with the white roof, better than any Viper I've seen. No, I just cannot decide. Even the silk green with the white roof... so tropical. Nope, they are all good.

Just ordered my S last Saturday, and was disappointed to find the S is not available in silk green, so I went with dark grey, white roof, sunroof. I hope that will look good.

Can anyone else confirm that the silk green is available in the standard Cooper only, and not the S??

Ted:
Sorry no silk green. Only green for the S is the British racing green.
I like the dark silver/grey. That will be the color I go with for my S as well.
Congrats on the car. I'm sure you will love it.

I am getting a pre-spec Cooper S with 17" S Lite Wheels. My car will be Chili Red with a White roof. My 65 was also red with a black roof, RHD. The Classic color for a Mini. A Cooper S is not a "girlie" car no matter what color.

 I agree a Mini must have silver minilite wheels. White wheels are for Girls !

Is it true that Electric Blue and Dark Grey are only available on the S? These are my two top pics, but i also want an automajic and don't want a super-blower anyway.

Has anyone actually seen silk green? The beetle green looked great on TV but was a dissapointment (to me) in reality.

Any word on availablity of other colors? Not unitl next year or what?
