In the MC2 website owners of the MC (not MCS) were polled as to their top speed they attained with the car. Here are some examples:

130 mph (in Germany)
120 mph (in France)
124 mph (in Spain)

I'm not sure what differences there are between the European version of the MC and the U.S. version, but you'd have to admit to one t hing: the MC is no slouch, even after allowing for a speedo margin of error of 5%.

Well, the Mini One, the European version, only has 90HP, and a few less goodies typically. The U.S. version of the Cooper, has 115HP stock.

On miniusa.com they say that 124MPH is top speed on the Cooper if I remember correctly...

MCS up to 110 by the speedo, very stable, but the wind turblance was lifting the wipers from the windshield, not a great feeling

Up to 115 mph a couple times. It's hard to get up to high speed around where I live. Felt very stable at this speed and easily has alot more to go!

Europe has four versions of the MINI currently :

MINI One
MINI Cooper
MINI Cooper S
MINI Diesel

The Cooper and Cooper S versions have same HP as the American versions, as far as I know. The MINI One is evidently a more tuneable car than the Cooper - so you could have some very quick MINI One's tooling around.

In any case, I can agree concur that the Cooper is no slouch, that being said, I have no clue how fast I've gone. I'd really like to track it and find out. One of my goals for 2004 is to start auto - x ing it and get a track day in somehow.
