R50/53 Off to Maine... I hope (ah, but hope is highly over-rated)

Well I'm off tomorrow to head up to Maine for a couple days, assuming we don't end up with a big snowfall tonight . If there are any MINI owners on here from the Freeport or Yarmouth areas (or any place in between NJ and Maine for that matter) who see some idiot waving frantically to them from the passenger seat of a big blue Dodge Ram, fear not, it's only Jerseygirl missing her little Nittany .

Jerseygirl,
I'm going to be in Portland with my girlfriend this weekend. She teaches in Freeport, and there's a winter festival there this weekend called Sparkle ( ), one feature of which is a concert tomorrow afternoon with 50 tubas!!! I'm really psyched to see it. Psyched enough to drive from Portland to Freeport, although we'll probably take her AWD Volvo... Anyway, I'll keep an eye out for your car! Have a great weekend, and enjoy the snow.
Chris

Thanks Chris,
Hope you enjoyed Freeport because we never made it out of Jersey. Got up to the northern part of the state and heard that the storm was going to be worse than originally predicted and is now supposed to last through Saturday which is when we were due to come back down. We stopped at my parents' house and had lunch then turned around and came back down to Princeton. What normally takes about an hour turned into a 5 hour ordeal. I'm sorry we won't make it up there this year but I can't imagine how horrible the drive would have been had we tried.
