Slap Shift's slow switch from 1st to 2nd

I have an 02 R50 automatic with a slap shifter.
It shifts slowly from first to second gear alowing me to lose many rpms in the transition.
Anyone got a fix or trick to switch it up faster?

I'd take it easy on the CVT that is in your R50. They break easily, and are expensive to replace.

Thats exciting. >_>
Well i guess i should be gentler :b

2nd, my R50 was traded in for this reason  And many others have had problems. So I'd go easy if you can.

Also, there are no "gears"....you should very seriously *NOT* be able to feel a shift in gears with your CVT.

I can go easy, just so i don't have to pay the bucks for the repair job. :o

To get a CVT tranny changed it costs around 6000-8000$ they aren't cheap at all...

I think also what people are saying is that since it's a CVT there are no "gears" in the transmission per se - You say you have paddle shifters though right? If they are on the CVT then I've noticed that shifts do feel odd when manually shifting a CVT although you never really loose power which is nice. Never driven a MINI one though...
