R50/53 New Owner In Germany
Hi Everyone
I picked up my IB MCS on Wed!!! It is beautiful!!!
I ordered it with Bonnet stripes, packages #1,#2,#3 and HK. It has the leatherette interior and Alloy trim.
I enjoy reading on the topics on the MC and MCS's.

Sehr Gutt! Nice choice in color and packages I think. Are these common cars in Germany? A friend said they were all over Paris when he was there, but an Italian visitor really talked them down, saying back home they have so many more great small cars, that Minis aren't small enough, so they aren't that popular. So, what about Germans? I know many are into size.
Bamamini ... are you a US citizen ... perhaps stationed overseas in Germany???? Lived there for 3 years and managed to come home with a couple of BMW's. Ahhhh, great assignment and a better location. While many think it's wonderful to be driving 130 MPH on the autobahn the real treat is the B roads ... woohoo! Enjoy your car ...

Sorry I didn't respond to your messages earlier, I had to 'step away' from my desk for a few minutes.
I am a US citizen stationed in Germany with the US Army.
I only have 38 miles on my car so I can't take it on the Autobahn yet. I did have a 1999 Corvette that I ran on the Autobahn. I pegged the speedometer at about 160mph! Scary!! I was racing a Ferrari. He began to pull away at 160.
Not to worry with the mini! No 160mph races with Ferraris

Bami, where are you stationed in Germany? I was stationed at Sembach Air Base near K Town. When I was there, I owned a 1956 VW that only ran about 65mph wide open so I stayed off the autobahn. Great place to be stationed.
So, I suppose you are going to bring your baby home with you, right? Do you have to make any modifications to be US approved or did you order the car for US consumption? I would love to be able to drive my MCS around Europe. Some of the roads and vistas are simply marvelous!!!
