New to NAM... couple of question.

Just got myself a 04 MSCm track ready setup.
it got.
Cross Coil
Alta engine mod.
Alta arms
Momo bucket set.
5-point belt
Roll Bar.
Wilwood 12.4
and etc...

Questions are.
1. I hate the 2 spoke steering wheel. would you upgrade to JCW 3 spoke? or use a momo steering wheel? will the airbag fit from 2 spoke to 3 spoke? how about cruise control if I change to MOMO wheel. any way to retrofit on to the dashboard?

2. On the track will the GP/M7 rear wing make a different?

3. Right now its using 14 pound 17in OZ wheel. Will it make a different if I downsize it to lightweight 16".

4. Does Cam/header make a big different? I think most people here use RMW stuff.

5. headlight. will the 05-06 fit in the 04. is it a big improvement in light? where is the cheapest place for it? right now it is Xenon already.

any info surely help.

Questions are.
Q1. I hate the 2 spoke steering wheel. would you upgrade to JCW 3 spoke?

A: It's all personal taste, a 3 spoke factory steering wheel will cost some bucks, but it is doable.

Q1a. ...or use a momo steering wheel?

A: I would stick with a factory wheel, less issues with the multifunction switches having to be relocated to somewhere else.

Q1b. Will the airbag fit from 2 spoke to 3 spoke?

A: No.

Q1c. How about cruise control if I change to MOMO wheel. any way to retrofit on to the dashboard?

A: Anything is possible if you have the cash...

Q2. On the track will the GP/M7 rear wing make a different?

A: Yes

Q3. Right now its using 14 pound 17in OZ wheel. Will it make a different if I downsize it to lightweight 16".

A: Any reduction in unsprung weight is a plus. I have been told by others who have gone from 17 to 16 inch alloy wheels they noted a big difference.

Q4. Does Cam/header make a big different? I think most people here use RMW stuff.

A: Anything that will help the engine breathe better is a plus, but I would pose this question to Way at Way Motor Works or Dr. Obnoxious. I'm not sure how radical you can go without an ECU reprogramming. I believe Way can do that but I would ask him.

Q5. headlight. will the 05-06 fit in the 04. is it a big improvement in light? where is the cheapest place for it? right now it is Xenon already.

A: The xenon bulbs put out much better light than the standard bulbs, and if you are already running xenons, changing to the 05/06 style may not give you any more benefit than you already have, other than maybe looks.

Welcome to NAM.

There's several threads, the GP and M7 wings to add a good deal of downforce.

Going to 16in wheels opens the options for tires, tires become generally cheaper, and the ride on the streets is smoother.

Cams and heads and headers, well I think about everyone you ask will have a different option on just which one is better, but the consensus is that they certainly do make a difference in the positive.

Lights, not a huge performance gain between the Xenons, but expensive to make changes, but it has been done. If you still feel you're lacking might want to look into a set of driving lights, they can range form under $100 for some Hella 500s, to well over $400 with the factory setup, and many places in between.

Are you looking for track day in a racing series/class where you'd be bound by rules with the mods or are you just modding up and having fun driving at the track with no competition?
