need some Sympathy for my poor car!

I have a 2002 MCS- perfect shape - lots of fun goodies. Even replaced the windshield a couple months ago because of a small chip.

A developer near the lot I park at work was spraying concrete sealer on their building. My car and 1/2 dozen others were covered with the stuff. (I have photos of them damaging the car- the police were called) They paid to have the cars professionally detailed.

Of course my car was closet and got hit the worse with the concrete sealer. Just got the car back from the detailer. They could not get it all off and the glass is etched and wavy. They paint was burned. All the glass, moonroof, and lights need to be replaced. The car needs to be repainted as well. Hopefully they will pay otherwise I have to go to court. And I am sure this is over the small claims limit in my state. I have to drop the car off today for an estimate because they said it would take an hour just to figure out all the pieces that need to be replaced.

Ouch.. that sux

Seems like you have a good case, so hopefully they will come through and fix it all. I would think that they may have insurrence to cover the damage (which may make it a bit easier hopefully.)

Yikes!

I'm very sorry to learn about the corrosive shower that your MINI endured. Have you taken pictures? I'd be curious to see them. I hope you will be able to get your MINI restored without too much more hassle for you, Good Luck.

It's amazing how careless contractors can be. I had a similar thing happen to me with my first brand new car: we had to park in a parking lot under an overpass. They decided to sandblast the supports for it while our cars were parked under it. My insurance at the time (State Farm) told me to get any work done that needed to be done and they'd worry about getting reimbursed. I got estimates and ended up getting a check from the contractor's insurance company though.

Good luck. Its a hassle either way, but things should turn out in your favor.

The pics of the damage do not show up well on the camera. The wavy glass has to be seen in person. So the repaint (not even the entire car- just the damaged places and blending) plus the headlights, moonroof glass, all but one piece of the other glass, exterior mirrors, etc. around $5200.
Paint damage

More idiots sealing

The Perps

What NOT to put on a car!

So if you file incident with your insurance, I'm sure they will go after the perps, right? Ask for a copy of the police report and keep all your photos incase your insurance or you need them later.
