brake pad??

Hi Guys,

I m about the time to replace my brake pads....(the service light is on:razz:)

Just want some comments about which brand's brake pads is good??

I see there are two brands which is pretty common for mini ...

HAWK or EBC "Green Stuff"?

Should i change to stainless steel brake lines ,too?

Thanks for the advise!!

Give us a heads up of the type of driving you do. Does the MINI see track days, just a commuter, or spirited driving? I personally do change my hoses to stainless as they do improve pedal feel and response.

i've got the hawk hps pads and like them. got them from raceshopper.com for
a really good price.

I was comparing the price of few site(minimania, outmotoring, & mossmini)

Seems like mossmini got a better deal!!

went to carbotech bobcat ceramic on my 05 MCS about 6 months ago, great
stopping power and nearly NO brake dust, stainless lines are a nice upgrade and brass end pieces make a firmer pedal.

Put Hawk Performance Ceramic (http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...mic_brake_pads) on my Mini and brake dust is all but eliminated and they stop great.

+1 on Hawk ceramic
Good stopping and very low dust.

Do you guys change the brake pads (front & rear) at the same time...or just the front ?

Just the front -- but I had only 6000 miles on them.

just the fronts,
they were more worn, did them in may,
next week i am doing the rears and changing to s.s. brake lines.
had no issues with changing the fronts and waiting on the rears

I did both front and rear. No good reason other than wanting the same pads on front and rear, and lower dust.

what kind of stainless steel hoses do you have?
is it some kind of OEM, or is it aftermarket?

I've had great luck with the Hawk HPS on my previous vehicle -- so totally worth it just for the reduction in brake dust . I'm hating it right now with all the dust. Previous owners just had the front pads changed (OEM) less than a year ago so I have a ways to go before I can replace.
