Mini's available options?

I am just curious, although I am afraid I know the answer, is there any way to turn the the available options on/off, like daytime running lights, auto window roll down etc. or can that only be accomplished at the dealer?

Thanks,
Lon

On a 02 - 06 that is something the dealer has to program for you. The R56 has those things as owner programmable.

Well that kindof sucks! The dealer wants a pretty penny to do that.

Yup, cash cow for BMW.

My guess would be a half hour of shop time. It has to be hooked up to the mother ships main computer.

Canadian BMW dealerships charge 1 hour for things like Alarm Activation. $135 dollars!

I guess it is up to the individual dealer. Mine (MAG MINI) has been very good to me & other MINI owners in the area. We are a lucky bunch here in central Ohio.

MOM here in Murray,UT indicated they would charge a half hour shop time. I suppose that is reasonable.

There is a list of programmable features somewhere around here on NAM. Do a search & find the list & have all of the settings done to your liking at once. For me a half hour seems reasonable. As they say your mileage may vary. :)

Good luck with your new MINI.
