A friend of my husbands saw 2 MINIs this weekend in 2 different areas of town. They both had been making left hand turns. The front left wheel had fallen off both of them!! Has anyone else seen or heard of this? I don't have any other info about the cars. It just seems odd for someone to have seen 2 MINIs with the same problem.

Geez, Lois, I hope it's not contagious. What parts of town did he see them?

Wait a sec....A MINI taking a left turn loses its entire wheel and the car comes to a screetching horrifying halt in the middle of the intersection. And this happens all over again in the same city witnessed by the same person. I don't think any of us here want a bridge that badly.

Hate to say it Lois, it sounds a little hokey to me...

I have a feeling they may be offering you some ocean front property in Arizona next...

I've known this guy for 20 years & I wouldn't put it past him to feed me a line. Some people love to mess around with us MINI owners.

You mean to tell me that property I just bought in Everglades, Florida isn't on the beach?

Hey could be on to something here. I was at the Laguna Seca MINI Mania race a few weeks back when one of the MINI's lost a left front wheel on the cool down lap.

I did a search & basically on other incidents of wheels falling off, it was the lug nuts hadn't been tightened properly. I actually lost a wheel on my old VW Bug because of loose lugs! It was quite exciting.
