When I purchased my car from Crevier, I paid $695 for 4-year/50,000 mile maintenance. I did pay markup on my Mini, don't remember how much though. I just didn't want to wait the 3 months, with rainy season coming up, driving a pickup before.

Ordered my Cooper yesterday.
Scheduled delivery is mid to late December.
No markup.

In the paperwork I was given was a "Book of Maintenance" that states: "Free Maintenance for 3 years or 36,000 miles"
Also states: "4 years or 50,000 mile warranty"

BMW / MINI provides free scheduled maintenance for the first 3 years/36,000 miles, in addition to the 4 year/50,000 mile warranty. You can purchase additional extended warranties, and you can extend the free scheduled maintenance to 4 years/50,000 miles (my dealer told me it was $499), and you can purchase it any time before your initial 3 year/36,000 mile maintenance plan expires.

And I paid sticker for my MC. :smile:

I just ordered an 04 MC at Brechs Mini today. Got all black on black with CVT and 4 years free maintenance. Expecting to get our Mini before Xmas day. I paid $900 over MSRP.

Got my MCS from Ralph Schomp in Denver. Paid strictly MSRP, no markup.

I paid sticker price/no markup from Bill Jacobs in Chicagoland. Same free service and maintenance as others. It sounds from your note that the markup was to get one already on the lot and there would be none if you ordered and waited. I don't like the idea of markup to get one on the lot, especially given there is no wiggle room on sticker price. It is the often worshipped free market, though, and I might have paid that to avoid the wait. Generally, I think dealers that demand more than sticker are too rabid profiteers.

If you paid MSRP, are you including the bogus, "documentation fee", that's often added on. As soon as I found out there was a $249 added fee that was nothing more than dealer markup I asked for, and got, a discount sufficent to offst this. I think MSRP should be just than, no additional markup no manner what they call it.

Oops, I guess I did pay a markup at Cincinnati MINI. My retail order says Doc Fee: $50.

What you really bought for $695 was one years maint. or 14,000 miles worth, sine you get the first 3yr/36,000 miles for free. You may want to re-evaluate this since it is not such a great deal.

Hmm.. well.. I see that, that yes, i am paying for a year's maintenance...but I bought a used car... and I drive only a mile to work, so I figure it will take me a while to get 50,000 miles. I drive way less that 10000 miles per year. I will probably hit 4 years first before 50,000 miles. Oh well, I'm not going to fret. I already signed the papers. I wasn't very good with maintaining my truck, so I'm thinking that this will force me to keep it maintained well.
